Matcha is a fine ground, powdered, high quality green tea and not the same as green tea or green tea powder. It’s nutritional value (1 cup of Matcha) is equivalent to ten cups of brewed green tea. Matcha powder is made from shade-grown tea leaves also used to make gyokuro.
How to consume: It tastes great on it’s own simply as tea, make a latte with a bit of unsweetened almond milk, or use it to boost up shakes and recipes. You can add liquid stevia or a bit of agave to sweeten as you would any other tea or coffee.
Where to find it: In your health food store or “Whole Foods” type grocery store, order online from Amazon. It’s a tiny bit more expensive in the stores (isn’t everything?) than online, approximately $10-15 per 50g
Health Benefits:
**Amino acids (building blocks of proteins)
