Lose the Mental Baggage

We waste so much time and energy on irrelevant things in life, not only do these things take up our precocious time–they carry a lot of weight on the mind and body.  Take care of yourself so that you can shine brightly when you are work or socializing.

Don’t be bullied or persuaded into doing things you don’t feel like: If you don’t want to do something then simply don’t, it’s probably not worth your time anyhow.

Take time for you: If you need a “you” day, whether it’s organizing yourself at home, relaxing or running errands, you gotta do what you gotta do to feel fabulous!

Don’t hold stuff in: Vent to someone you can trust if you need to, or alternatively write down your feelings in a journal to get it off your chest.

Don’t gossip about people, events and situations. This brings additional energy and attention to the unnecessary.

Let go of things that don’t matter: This in itself is a huge process, partly because we hold onto stuff that we are unaware of. This additional mental baggage bogs us down, making it hard for us to move forward.

Pick your battles carefully: Sometimes whatever it is just isn’t worth it, whatever it is – things always have a funny way of working themselves out exactly the way they were supposed to.

Get rid of clutter: In your mind, life is long enough that this stuff can seriously weigh you down, take a yoga class or get in touch with mother nature and get clear and able to keep moving forward.

Sound advice. In regards to #3, in this day and age, people are afraid to be alone with their thoughts. People feel the need to be stimulated for every waking moment of their day, the need for constant social interaction. I enjoy the company of others but I also enjoy time with myself.

Also, #2 on your list could not be more spot on (although, I may have kicked it up a notch by making it #1). Talking behind others backs is inexcusable. It’s venomous, it rots you from the inside. You can’t be afraid of confrontation, face to face that’s how to talk to someone.

    P.S. Getting used to the short hair…. the jury’s still out……. ;)
